Fernando del Rincón is the anchor for Conclusiones, the primetime show that monitor’s the key happenings of the day, combining in-depth analysis of the most important news of the day.
In his interviews he has covered a broad range of topics, from international politics to literary icons, which include Paraguay´s, Horacio Cartes; the presidential candidate of Venezuela, Henrique Capriles Radonski, the former president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former president of Paraguay, Fernando Lugo, the former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, the president of Guatemala, Otto Perez Molina, the president of Peru, Ollanta Humala, Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchú, writer Carlos Fuentes, former Mexico First Lady Marta Sahagún, Venezuela Foreign Minister Elías Jaua; Venezuelan opposition leaders Leopoldo López and María Corina Machado; among others.
He has also covered a series of international news events as a reporter such as the coverage of the presidential elections in Mexico, Venezuela, and Guatemala, as well as the death of the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, and the tensions in Venezuela in 2014; the National Republican Convention and the U.S. presidential elections in 2012, the Oklahoma tornadoes and the death of Osama Bin Laden. In March of 2011 he was sent by CNN en Español to cover the outcomes of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan; he reported on Pope John Paul II’s visit to Mexico and his death and funeral in the Vatican; the death of music icon Celia Cruz; the forest fires in California; the Iraq war; the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001; and various royal weddings.
In April 2014, Del Rincón and his show *Conclusiones *received the ACE award (Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos) in the category of Best General Program. In January of 2006 he received one of the highest honors known in the country for his 20 uninterrupted years of work, making his mark in the hall of fame. Also, he has been selected twice as best TV news anchor by popular vote through a People en Español magazine poll, in 2011 and 2013.
Before joining CNN en Español, Del Rincón was the entertainment and news anchor for the daily and primetime newscast “Mega News” of Mega TV, a TV network owned by Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS), where he also anchored a daily morning radio show.
In addition, Del Rincón was an anchor and reporter for the daily investigative show “Primer Impacto” and “Ver Para Creer,” both on Univision. In Mexico, he was at the helm of Televisa Monterrey’s newscast, and was a contributor to *Reforma* newspaper.
Born in Morelos, Mexico, he began his career in radio and television at the age of 16 in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. He currently resides in Atlanta and is fluent in English and Spanish.
