Estudio: inyección dos veces al año reduce riesgo de infección por VIH

La farmacéutica Gilead Sciences dice que una inyección que se aplica dos veces al año redujo drásticamente el riesgo de infección por VIH, incluso más que la píldora diaria previa a la exposición (PrEP, en inglés), que es hoy en día la principal opción disponible. La inyección redujo el riesgo de infección en 96%, y resultó 86% más efectiva que Truvada, la píldora que se toma una vez al día.
