Un estudio publicado por la revista Historical Biology sugirió que los bebés del extinto tiburón megalodón —cuyo nombre científico es "Otodus megalodon"— medían hasta 2 metros de largo. Además, se descubrió que mientras crecían dentro de su madre, los megalodones se comían a otros huevos sin eclosionar, algo que se conoce como canibalismo intrauterino.
